Bonne Année, Y'all!

'Tis a new year, full of fresh beginnings and opportunities to reinvent ourselves! How endearing, right?

I PLEDGE TO (feel good and) DO GOOD
After all, it is a new year, so why not focus on a new project? A project that starts with the self, and then ripples outward onto every person that you happen to cross paths with. This journey will take time and dedication, but by next year we will see how we have grown and what we have accomplished. Bon chance!

Feelin' Good In The New Year
  • Listen to your body! It is a temple, after all. Our bodies know how to communicate with us, and it wants us to feel good. Once we get beyond our sugar addictions, our bodies will crave the nutrients it needs (eat good feel good, right?). I don't like waking up in the morning feeling greasy and bloated from the pizza I ate half of last night. I know that I am happiest when I feel good-healthy-strong, and having a healthy diet (filled with fresh, nutritious foods) I am able to take the first steps to being a do-good-er. "One must help themselves before the help others." Feel good, do good!
  • Listen and communicate. We need communication and interaction; we are social beings and need each other to survive. Communication makes us feel heard, which makes us feel happy. Communicate more, and let people communicate with you. Listen. Take time! There's no reason to rush communication. So take a chill pill-- everyone is perfectly grateful to have your attention, and they will be just as open to listen to you. There you have it: communication.
  • Find your soul song. Metaphorically, or literally! Like the penguins in Happy Feet! As that light-hearted movie teaches us, it's okay to be different. In fact, your differences will set you apart from others, and open more doors for you. They make you unique! The first step to finding your soul song requires some self-actualizing confidence (wavering between your true self and your expected self will create an internal insecurity, leaving you stuck in a limbo state of mind. Being anything but yourself is exhausting.)

There you have it. Put in effort and gain happiness. Worth a try, eh?

Catch up soon!
Xoxo Jill :)
